My grandfather was diagnosed with lung cancer when I was in elementary school and passed away after a short battle and lots of support from family and friends. This tribute is in honor of him and the legacy he’s left behind.

Words could never describe how much you mean to me. I’m so glad thyroid cancer didn’t have the last word. It’s so amazing to see you persevering and serving God and others in your 80s. You cover us with your love and prayers and we’re grateful.

To my loving aunt, ELB, It’s still hard to believe you’re gone. It’s been 5 years and you’re missed more than you know. But your legacy and life of dedication to God and family will never be forgotten. Love you forever!

Shoutout to my partner for continuing to kick cancer’s butt! You got this! I know it has been a long journey, but the end is in sight.

He lived life to the fullest every day for the 25 years after his first cancer diagnosis. Four cancer surgeries, countless rounds of chemo, and radiation … and you would never know it unless he told you. Always smiling and laughing until the end.

I am extremely grateful for the doctor’s who detected my grandmother’s breast cancer early and were able to remove it from her body. Cancer impacts us all in many ways that are often life-changing. I’m hopeful for the future of TTC.
